(By Anthony Miller) As planned, Axon’s shares were suspended today as Indian SI HCL’s £440m acquisition of the UK’s most successful SAP consultancy nears the final curtain. Now the hard work really starts, though HCL (and indeed all IT services firms) can take some heart from the fact that demand for SAP-related services is still relatively buoyant and, for the while at least, outstrips supply, as organisations seek to reduce cost by rationalising and consolidating their SAP systems.
