Dimension Data buys UK Microsoft reseller

(By Anthony Miller). Europe’s leading Cisco reseller, South African headquartered and London co-listed Dimension Data (DDT), has acquired UK-based Microsoft large account reseller, Teksys. No details were given on price paid, but Teksys turned over £24m in the year to 31st July ’08 at 3% operating margin. This is of course a drop in the ocean compared to DDT’s $4.5bn revenue. Nonetheless, it’s all part of DDT’s ongoing services expansion, which has seen the company transform itself over recent years from a much-troubled network product reseller to a global networking solutions and services player. We will take a closer look at DDT in later comments as they are bit of an unsung hero in our sector.
