(By Anthony Miller). At the top of the list of press releases on Satyam’s website today – a list otherwise dominated by stuff related to the ongoing fraud saga – comes a little bit of light relief. The company has announced the winners of the University level finals of its inter-college Football Challenge which, by the way, Nizam Institute of Engineering and Technology won over JNTU College of Engineering (who said that all engineers are nerds?). However, the press release also reminds readers that Satyam is, at least at this moment in time, the official IT Services Provider to the FIFA World Cups in 2010 (Johannesburg) and in 2014 (Brazil). So let’s hope Raju won’t have turned out to have scored another own goal.

Yes. It is a relief not only for Satyam and its employees but also for its exisitng clients too.
It goes to show how a company with strong fundamentals will tide over the roughest of the rides. Also the fact that there are more than half a dozen suitors for the company augurs well for the future of the company.
